Design Concept & Artistic Metaphor
Commissioned by the School of Dance with Ballet as the core theme, this promotional poster moves away from traditional, high-contrast dramatic stage lighting, embracing an elegant, contemporary aesthetic that focuses pure attention on the human form and body language.
-
Desaturated & Organic Palette: Curated performance imagery from official school productions, precisely isolating the dancers. By reducing color saturation, the nude tones of the costumes blend naturally with skin textures, emphasizing muscle definition, poise, and fluid movement.
-
Unconventional Light Background: Selected a soft, bright, neutral background instead of typical dark theatre tones, creating a refreshing visual contrast that sets modern ballet apart from conservative classical representations.
-
Abstract Tutu Metaphor ("The Vision"): Centered behind the dancers is an abstract line graphic representing a top-down geometric view of a classic ballet tutu. Visually mirroring the form of a human eye, it symbolizes broadened horizons and new artistic perspectives—bridging classical heritage with contemporary ballet evolution.
