The Future Performing Arts Education Webinar Series 2020

“Making Online Education Accessible”

Motion-Led Webinar Identity & Digital Campaign

Client: The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA)
Role: Art Direction / Motion Graphics Design / Kinetic Typography System
Scope: Key Visual, Motion Poster, Webinar Digital Campaign Assets

Project Overview
Developed the key visual and motion-based campaign for the 2020 webinar series focused on making performing arts education accessible in an online environment. Created during the global transition to digital learning, the campaign addressed the urgent need to communicate adaptability, connectivity, and institutional resilience.

Conceptual Framework
Color Convergence as Collaboration Metaphor
Constructed an interlocking gradient system derived from deconstructed triangular forms of HKAPA’s logo architecture.
The seamless transition from deep institutional purple to vibrant warm orange symbolizes:

  • Institutional collaboration with global partners

  • The convergence of traditional arts education and digital platforms

  • Expansion beyond physical campus boundaries

Kinetic Typography System
Structured the headline along a precise 60-degree diagonal grid to introduce directional energy and visual rhythm.
The cascading, looping motion typography:

  • Reflects continuous knowledge flow

  • Reinforces digital dynamism

  • Enhances screen-based engagement

Accessibility-Focused Information Hierarchy
Established a clean, high-contrast lower informational band to anchor essential content:

  • Webinar details

  • Speaker lineup

  • Platform access information

Strategic Significance
This project demonstrates:

  • Early-stage digital transition branding

  • Motion-driven typographic systems

  • Institutional adaptability during crisis

  • Clear information hierarchy under fast-moving digital conditions
