Absolut Vodka Exhibition Poster
“Absolut Creativity” (2007)
Exhibition Venue: The Pao Gallery, Hong Kong Arts Centre
Role: Graphic Designer / Concept & Creative Strategist
Scope: Conceptual Exhibition Poster, Graphic Identity Exploration
Project Overview
Created for the Absolut Vodka Exhibition at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, this conceptual poster marked the beginning of my professional design journey. The work pays homage to Absolut’s long-standing legacy of artistic collaboration while exploring the essence of creative thinking.
Conceptual Framework
The Mind Map as Creative Engine, Centered the composition on the iconic Absolut bottle silhouette, transforming it into the nucleus of a hand-drawn creative mind map.
Visual Language & Process Expression
Set against a blue graph-grid background, the composition evokes raw brainstorming energy—unfiltered, exploratory, and iterative. This approach intentionally contrasts polished commercial aesthetics, instead visualizing the thinking process behind creative production.
Tribute to Brand Heritage
Anchored the design with bold blue “ABSOLUT CREATIVITY” typography, referencing the brand’s iconic advertising language.
The piece bridges:
-
Global brand legacy
-
Personal conceptual methodology
-
Early exploration of identity-driven storytelling
Foundational Significance
As the first work following graduation, this project established core themes that continue throughout later practice:
-
Concept-led design thinking
-
Icon reinterpretation
-
Structured visual systems
-
Brand-driven narrative construction
